Q's & A's ON HOW TO HIRE YOUR DJ.
-
Q: Are all dj's alike?
A: Certainly not. Unfortunately, many dj services come and go each year. Very few are committed to providing quality and developing the skills, longevity, and reputation, needed to provide the level of service you deserve on this memorable day. I'm proud to tell you that Jammin DJ has been in business since 1989 est.
Q: I thought dj's just play music? A: Historically yes, but a wedding or events dj will play the right songs, wear proper attire, and conduct all requested mc'ing. Your dj should bring the right personality as well as communication skills that make your celebration unique and memorable like you always dreamed of.
Q: What do I ask a dj, when I inquire? A: Begin by writing down all those questions that are important to you. Below you'll find some facts to consider. 1. When you make that first call, are you actually talking to the person that's going to conduct your event? This is important since you do want to talk to that person, get a feeling for them, plan your details directly, and build trust. At Jammin DJ the answer is yes! 2. For the amount you pay for a service, what is provided and supplied. Expect from your dj to inquire about your wants and needs as well! 3. Can the dj provide you with updated references, expect at least 30. 4. Whether you want a laid-back event, or a interactive wedding, ask your dj whether they provide anything to add to that atmosphere. 5. Assess your first conversation with the dj. Do they have a pleasant personality, use proper grammer, have good listening skills? What's their level of experience? Do they sound mature enough to provide what you need? Are they established in their area of operation?
Q: Should I consider the price? A: Of course. The question remains, do you feel that dj is flexible enough, and has the experience to cater to your wants and needs. Everyone has a budget of course, but price should not be your major concern. Believe me, if price is most important to you ,chances are the "cheap dj" you hire, will be out of business when your wedding/event date arrives.......and you'll be out of luck. "You get what you pay for"
Q: So, is that most expensive dj the best? A: Of course not. Again, apply all of the above, take notes, do your homework ask questions, talk to other wedding pro's (or refer to my wedding pro links), and have a wonderful reception!
